Depression overtook Manuel for years, but he has recently decided that Kyle wouldn’t have wanted to hold him back, so now he is seeking to live the kind of life that makes people happy - the kind of life he knew Kyle would live.

Samantha Stallings, of Louisville, Ky., is 6 foot 3 inches and the assistant sports information director at the University of the Cumberlands. She had surgery in 8th grade due to OC Fusion, a heart defect, and for the past 10 years has attended Camp Braveheart for youth with heart problems. Even though her friends have either passed on or moved away, she continues to attend as a volunteer. "I see kids running around and I think, 'They need to cherish this time together because they don't know how long they'll have,'" she says.
